I wanted to create an environmental portrait taking advantage of the last throws of spring and Braidburn Valley in the south side of Edinburgh is a beautiful city park. So I asked Daniel and Nicola to model under the pink cherry blossom canopy and used a technique which has become known as the Brenizer method. This creates a very shallow area of sharp focus which is great way to make a portrait stand out. One thing I do is make the portrait session fun and running and waking make a good distraction.
