Scottish Castle Wedding Venues

Article text
Tina and Andrew on the rooftop of Borthwick Castle.
Professional wedding photographers in Edinburgh are fortunate in that the area provides many stunning castles. A particularly beautiful location for a wedding venue is Borthwick Castle in Midlothian, and within short walking distance there is also Borthwick Parish Church, an option for a wedding ceremony. I have, however, photographed both civil and religious ceremonies in the Garrison Chapel in the castle. There is a wide choice of location options to photograph the bride and groom and family group portraits, for example the striking architecture of the twin towers or the magnificent gate provide stunning backdrops for portrait photography. Within the castle The State Room provides another spectacular venue to photograph family and guests. The spiral staircase and the luxurious Mary Queen of Scots Bedchamber are popular locations for bride and groom portraits as is the Honeymoon Suite. For the more adventurous and brave the castle roof also provides a stunning location.

There is no need for couples to leap the 12 foot gap between the two towers in order to get dramatic pictures ( see the history of the Borthwick Castle )!
