I qualified as a professional photographer at Napier University in 1982, my career began with product and commercial photography for agencies, where good lighting and technical excellence are crucial. This included a notable best selling album cover for Wet Wet Wet "High On The Happy Side" and celebrities for corporate magazines.This background enables me to achieve consistently good results when photographing weddings, no matter what weather conditions prevail.

When we meet, I will show you my portfolio and take notes of your requirements and any creative input is most welcome, but don't worry I have plenty of ideas to suggest. After booking confirmation I will arrange to shoot a free engagement portrait, which is great rehearsal, especially for those who are uneasy about having their photo taken. It also means that we can explore ideas for your wedding day.

My photography is a relaxed documentary style, allowing time to capture many informal pictures of the guests as your day unfolds, however you may like some formal group photos as well.
The formal group photographs can be kept to a minimum, it means the bride and groom can maximize the time spent enjoying their wedding day. Although I am based in Edinburgh and have photographed weddings from Perthshire to Berwickshire in the borders and North Berwick in East Lothian, so don't worry about traveling to your event.
